With a continuous temperature resistance of 550°C (1022°F), the silicone coating enhances the blanket’s performance under 260°C (500°F) short-term thermal shock conditions. This combination of materials provides flexibility, abrasion resistance, water resistance, and chemical resistance, making it suitable for multifunctional environments.

While the silicone fiberglass EV fire blanket is not intended for prolonged exposure to the extreme heat of EV battery fires, which can reach 1000°C (1832°F) and occasionally exceed 1200°C (2192°F) in localized areas, it offers 5–10 minutes of short-term protection. This critical window allows for initial containment of flames and mitigation of early-stage fire spread. It is particularly suited for small-scale fires caused by sparks, splashes, or localized overheating, making it a practical choice for emergency preparedness in logistics warehouses or medium-sized fleet operations.
